The Best Seafood In West Haven, CT
When it comes to finding grub to feed the face and you’re visiting New England…especially if you’re en route and passing through Connecticut then you MUST stop by for some of the best seafood at Stowe’s Seafood in West Haven, Connecticut. Their lobster is to die for! My daughter and I love lobster and I didn’t expect to find any really good lobster until we made it to Maine. I was very, very wrong!!
Our AirBnB hostess recommended if we liked seafood, the best place in town to visit was Stowe’s Seafood. My gosh was she so right! But first, let me talk about their outdoor ambiance. I love a good presentation and their outdoor venue, although small, did not disappoint when it came to the decor appropriately tied into the theme of the restaurant. Here’s the good ole’ pirate with just part of their menu on display.
I mean, just look at that outdoor setup! It added to the vibe of Stowe’s Seafood. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The indoor portion of the restaurant is tight quarters. In other words, it’s quite small inside. There is just enough room to read the menu, select what you want, order your food, and go outside to wait until your name is called. There really isn’t much standing room inside to wait around after you order. On our visit, it was raining. Thankfully there is a small patio cover we were able to stand under outside while waiting for our food.
As I write this, I am reliving the moments in time where we ordered our lobster from Stowe’s and it just makes my mouth water. Their lobster is absolutely phenomenal!!! Now both my daughter and I were holding every other restaurant to the standard of Stowe’s lobster. We did venture out to another restaurant while visiting in West Haven, CT and to be honest, their lobster was not nearly as tasty. Everything from that day forward would be compared to Stowe’s Seafood! Sorry guys…when you find lobster THAT good, you can’t help yourself but to compare! Hahaha…Truly a place to stop by and if you don’t like lobster, they have fresh fish to choose from too!
Ah, the interior decor of Stowe’s Seafood is so original! I loved it!! There are photos hung from every wall to every corner to the ceiling above your head. I love finding places like this to eat and take it all in. My favorite part of visiting these kinds of restaurants is their authenticity…and for Stowe’s, their authenticity AND lobster!!!
Donut Lie, These Are Delicious
Ok, so let me be transparent here for a hot second. I’m not really a donut kinda gal, but I did give these donuts a try while in West Haven and they are delicious!!! As you can see, there’s two each of the same kind. Each of us selected the type of donuts we liked. I really didn’t think I would like these given my historical not-a-fan of donut self…BUT to my surprise, these were AHMAZING! I ate both of mine! Hahaha…no need to share! 😉 The donut shop is called Donut Crazy and they’re actually located in New Haven, CT. It’s approximately 15 minutes from West Haven, CT. Not a bad drive and they were definitely worth that 15 minutes too!
