Vacationing on Connecticut’s Coast – Where The Calm Lies

Vacationing on Connecticut's Coast

Our first stop included vacationing on Connecticut’s Coast. It was anything but what I expected. It was a quaint city. West Haven, CT to be exact. There was a calmness amongst us that felt good. It appeared as though time stopped and we were adventuring in unknown territories. For us, we were!

PLACES TO VISIT IN CONNECTICUT

Our stay was a short one, just two days. But it was two days where we took full advantage of everything local to us that was new and fun!

Sea Bluff Beach

Sea Bluff Beach is located in the Long Island Sound so the water is very calm, little to no waves, but the water is very cold. Haha. The beach consisted of myself, my kids and one other person. My daughter and I walked out as far as we could until we reached these rock formations.

It felt like we could keep walking and the ocean would stay shallow for miles and miles. The water never went above our ankles…until something happened. Little did we know that high tide was coming in…and it was coming in FAST!!! I yelled for my son to come out to meet us on the rocks and bring my phone. Hah, of course I wanted to snag some photos of that beautiful view. By the time he met us on these rock formations, the water was so much deeper. Once we got off the rocks, I saw the water was now up to my mid-waist. I couldn’t believe how fast the tide came in. Vacationing on Connecticut’s coast was definitely proving to be worth the stop with a little excitement thrown in there too!

We had so much fun at Sea Bluff Beach. Given that we only had 2 days in West Haven, CT, we spent one of our days in CT at the beach all day to enjoy the calm and quiet, sun, sand, and water. The entire beach belonged to us outside of the natives roaming around by our feet. There were crabs and little minnows seen as we walked along the shallow waters. Simple and fun. We loved it all!!!
